June 10, 2010 - NEW SONG Well.. I recently sat down deliberately to compose. It doesn't usually work that way, but this time it did. The process was kind of like with Magnify where it started with a really simple repetitive riff, which suggested something else, which suggested more things... I forgot to mention it, but starting with Rise I've been using a Yamaha Motif XS. |
February 14, 2010 - NEW SONG Just finished Rise. Rock drums, acoustic guitar, and some epic starbursty thing. |
September 17, 2009 - NEW SONG This one is called Shield. It's orchestral, sort of like a film score. The least 'electronic' song here, I think. |
November 14, 2008 - For my baby Been a long time. This is the first song I've finished in several years, thanks to you, K. |
June 20, 2005 - NEW/OLD SONG Some of you might have been wondering if I was ever going to update this site again. I can hardly believe so much time has gone by. This update is to post a song that has technically been done since just before Christmas. I don't know why I sat on it for so long. Maybe it was the subject matter. More likely it was simply because I didn't think it was my best work ever. Now I'm trying to come to terms with the idea that not everything can always be my best work ever, but it can still be worth putting up here. And I've come to terms with the other thing as well as I can, I guess. So I present to you - Present. |
April 08, 2004 - SITE REDESIGNED How's it look? If you're visiting here for the first time... well, my name's Andy, and this website is the place where I make my finished music available. |
March 17, 2004 - NEW REMIX To those of you into the video game ReMix thing, I've been working on this Super Castlevania mix for a few months.  It's my usual general electronica meets rock meets orchestra deal.  Now, I know at least a few of you have to be Castlevania fans, and I hope you like this one. |
December 01, 2003 - YET ANOTHER NEW SONG After fully 3 years of working with the standard Triton instrument set, I finally sprung for an expansion board. To say it was worth it would be an understatement. After exploring the new instruments for 10 minutes, I was so excited, I started recording a few experimental measures. One thing led to another, and two days later XXX was finished. Weighing in at 7:10, it's now the longest song in my little collection. It's also possibly the heaviest, and probably the most evil. Bwahaha. |
October 27, 2003 - ANOTHER NEW SONG This one has been in the works for a few months, and it finally finished itself during a marathon of early-morning inspiration. Not surprisingly, it's my new personal favorite. It's called Run. Enjoy. |
May 1, 2003 Added the Links page. Added the writing page. Now, if you click on the "writing" button, it will take you somewhere, for the first time ever. Specifically, it will take you to what basically amounts to my personal Opinion Column. Also, my brother has a whole new site up. He is a 3D artist. He's very good. Look at his work. |
April 24, 2003 - NEW SONG ADDED First new COMPLETED song since Crash! It's called Rae. I wrote it for Rae. I'm pretty convinced it's the best song I've ever written. It's long though, so I had to use 112kbps encoding. Still good quality. |
February 14, 2003 Happy Valentine's Day. Added a Final Fantasy VII ReMix to the Vibrations page. I entered this in the IronMix Challenge 10 at Overclocked ReMix. Judging for the competition is pending. The original song is called "It's Difficult to Stand on Both Feet, Isn't It?" The ReMix is "It's Difficult to Keep Both Feet in One Genre." There's a lot of orchestral stuff, with NIN-ish percussion and guitars, and some techno leads. Greetings of the day go to Pat, for sending me my first-ever fan mail! |
January 21, 2003 Happy New Year. I added the Alisia Dragoon ReMix to the Vibrations page. The ReMix is not an official UFX song or anything like that, but I wanted to put it somewhere easy to find. Currently struggling with candidates for next ReMix, and finishing up a concert piano arrangement of a certain undisclosed rock song. I seem to be in a dry spell for originals, so a big finger to the muses. |
October 28, 2002 Greetings to Overclocked ReMix I did a remix of a song from Alisia Dragoon. Get the ReMix here. |
October 24, 2002 For the music project thing, I've decided to go with the name UFX for the time being. I can never really make up my mind about the name... |
October 15, 2002 Added a new song ("Crash") to the Vibrations page. This one has actually been "finished" for a few months, in the sense that it was written and mostly recorded. The problem was, I was using a synth guitar and the sound was just annoying. Last week I finally got around to picking up a MetalZone pedal for my real guitar, and the first order of business was to redo the guitar parts proper. Hope you enjoy it! |
October 4, 2002 I just moved the site over to a new domain, so I'm pretty excited about that. This might even motivate me to update more often. Anyway, check out the Vibrations page. The songs have been updated, remixed, and remastered. And with my new web host, you might actually be able to download them now! Feedback on the musical junk is always appreciated. |
November 7, 2001 Added a movie to the visuals page. Now you can watch Sureshot transform and roll out. |
October 29, 2001 Since the last update, I've moved to Arizona, and the world has gone haywire. Or at least more so than usual. One night shortly after my roadtrip across the US, I was playing with Transformers, and suddenly got the urge to model one from head to toe in 3D. The results have been added to the previously non-existant visuals page. |
September 7, 2001 Added the beginnings of the vibrations page. Some of my music is there. It's sort of a mix between techno, rock, classical, and a few other things. I use a Korg Triton workstation for mostly everything. There are links to the MP3 files so you can download and listen. |
